 D Series (D4): A practical, budget-friendly entry-level model in a compact 4-inch size. It works well with VGrow and can be controlled directly via the App. It is not compatible with E-Series controllers. Available in single or dual packaging.

What are the main differences between the AeroWave E, D, and A series clip fans?

The oscillation features differ slightly between series. All AeroWave E Series clip fans use VIVOSUN’s patented oscillation design with Horizontal Oscillation of 90° (±45° Auto) and Vertical Angle Adjustment Range of 80° (Manual). The A Series offers Horizontal Oscillation of 90° (±45° Auto) and a wider Vertical Angle Adjustment Range of 120° (Manual). The D Series controls airflow focus or diffusion by rotating or fixing the air guide cover.

Do all three AeroWave series have the same oscillation angle?

All AeroWave clip fans operate below 40 dB, placing them in the low-noise category. The E Series performs especially well at low speeds thanks to its EC motor, which allows smoother speed regulation and even quieter operation.

Which series has the lowest operating noise?

For E and A Series clip-on models: Simply attach the innovative patented clip to flat, hard surfaces such as grow racks, stands, or poles, then tighten the fixing knob to ensure the fan is stable and secure. Avoid mounting on slippery or soft surfaces.
For the D Series detachable hook: Align the hook with the reserved port on the fan body to install it. The hook allows you to hang the fan from tent poles, crossbars, or other structures. It can also be used for direct hanging or paired with metal plates for magnetic mounting on tent walls, offering flexibility for different installation scenarios.

How do I correctly install the clips and detachable hooks on the different AeroWave series clip fans?

It is normal for the motor to become slightly warm during operation. However, if the fan gets excessively hot and is accompanied by unusual smells or smoke, immediately unplug it and stop using it. This may indicate motor coil aging or a short circuit — contact VIVOSUN after-sales support and do not attempt to disassemble it yourself.

The clip fan body gets quite warm during operation — is that normal?

The AeroWave E series fans are not compatible with other brand controllers. They are designed to work with VIVOSUN E25 or E42A+ controllers.The USB-C port on the fans is not open for third-party integration. We do not provide public access to the communication protocol at this time.However, they can be used with smart plugs or timers. After a power outage, the fans will automatically resume their previous settings, including fan speed and operating mode (such as Natural Wind), making them suitable for reliable automated control.

Are the AeroWave E6/E9 fans compatible with other controllers, smart plugs, or timers? Can the USB-C port be integrated into a custom controller system?

This is normal behavior. All circulation fans connected to the same controller—including the AeroLight’s built-in fan—are grouped together and run synchronously. As a result, their speed and operating modes cannot be controlled separately.If you want to control the fans independently, connect one fan to a different controller and assign it to a different Garden in the VIVOSUN App.

Why can’t I control the AeroWave E6 fan and the AeroLight fan individually when they are connected to the same controller?

Only the AeroWave E6 Gen2 fan supports 6 oscillation levels (including off). Whether the oscillation levels can be controlled remotely depends on the controller used.
When paired with the E25 controller, oscillation speed can be adjusted via the app.
When paired with the E42A controller, oscillation speed must be adjusted using the local button.
When paired with the E42A+ controller, oscillation speed can be adjusted using the fan’s local button, the app, or the controller’s control panel.
AeroWave E9 fan and the earlier versions of the AeroWave E6 fan do not support remote oscillation control and must be operated manually via the button on the unit.
If oscillation was enabled before power loss, the fan will automatically resume oscillating after power is restored. If oscillation was off, it must be manually reactivated.

Can I control the oscillation of the AeroWave E series fan remotely via controller or app? Will it resume oscillation automatically after a power cycle?

Any Type-C cable that supports the USB 2.0 protocol can be used to connect the AeroWave E6/E9 fan to the E42A controller. 
The E6/E9 fan cannot be powered via USB-C. It uses a dedicated 12V DC power adapter for electricity. 
The USB-C port is strictly for communication with the controller and cannot supply power. If you require a USB-powered fan, consider using the AeroWave D4 instead.

Which USB-C cable should I purchase to use with the E42A controller and AeroWave E series fan? Can I use a USB-C to USB-A cable or adapter to power the fan?

The AeroWave E series fan is made of ABS plastic and should not be exposed to temperatures above 140°F (60°C). 
Avoid placing the fan directly against LED chips or high-temperature housings. 
For UV or high-intensity lights, maintain a safe distance according to the light’s heat output to prevent deformation.
The recommended operating temperature is 32–140°F (0–60°C).
